In campaign mode heroes have to take strength, insight and tech tests to check whether they succeed in performing special actions like skills or mission specific ones. For this each hero has on its sheet dice listed for these three attributes. The aptitude for a certain task is reflected by the number and color of dice to use for the test.
After rolling the dice, if the number of surges () is greater or equal to the number before the test icon (or one if no number is given), the test is successful. For mission specific test with more than one success needed, the successes can be accumulated during independent tries and saved successes are recorded by stacking strain markers next to the site where the test was taken. As soon as the accumulated successes are equal to or greater than the number needed, the test is successful and the appropriate effect or event is occurs.
The probabilities of a given minimal number of successes for the different dice combinations are shown in the following table in percent.
